Have any of y’all ever had one of those days where absolutely nothing goes right? Well, I am usually a pretty positive person and can make a good day out of a pretty crappy one.
However, today was a very rare occurrence for me. All due to this weekend being so awful, I’ve had a pretty rough day. It started badly with being a Monday and all, I was already tired. Then, in class, I had to deal with fixing my car. I messed it up pretty bad on Saturday in a wreck. Somehow, late Saturday night, I found myself driving a curvy back road and tired as all get out AND, like an idiot, I was texting my mom while I was driving. not surprisingly, I wound up in a ditch and hit some trees. stuck. Like, really stuck. Luckily, my stubbornness plus my tough little car got me out. After a few curse words and some walking around the area looking for something to throw, I was back on the road again and headed home. (past curfew by now and I was nervous) My mom was there for me through the whole thing, on the phone with me my whole way home. I wasn’t injured, thank god, but I hit my head and shoulder on the driver side door.. and shattered my ego…
Now, that all sounds like bad and good news but what made my day so irritating was that I put my car up on a lift and found that I had broken one of the studs that bolts my exhaust to the manifold on the passenger side and had gotten tree bark and dirt lodged in between the tire and the rim on the front driver side. I will end up having to remove the manifold to replace the stud and I’ll also need a new tire. These things that seem so small wouldn’t make me so upset if I hadn’t been constantly reminding myself all day long that this is all due to my little habit of texting while driving. Which will NEVER happen again. My advice to everyone else, is that it’s not worth it. Put your phone down, and pay attention to the road. You may not be as lucky as I was.
