Sleep Deprivation

IMG_5050This post will be more centered around advice. This advice isn’t wise or amazing. I won’t win an award for it, I won’t get applauded.

This post is just telling you. DO NOT DO WHAT I’M DOING.

Recently, I’ve been getting up at 5:30 every morning, going to school, (when I am well enough) then from school to work, then work to home to accomplish chores and school work. By the time I get myself into bed, I’m exhausted BUT I’ve had absolutely no luck falling asleep. I lay there and think about what all I have to get done the following day. This lack of sleep has caused me to feel sick, worse and worse everyday. I’ve missed a lot of days of school already due to waking up with a headache and achy muscles. However, I’ve gone to work every single day of the week, every week. I’ve been working myself to death and not getting any rest. My teacher, my boss, and close friends have noticed me, moving slower than usual during the early daytime and getting fevers everytime I slow down from working. On the bright side, I’ve been making money and getting my school work done on time.

The ironic thing is, I posted once before about not letting priorities slip, and now, my priorities aren’t slipping, but my health is.

I’ve found that balance is much more difficult than I was ever prepared for. ever.

luckily, I have good friends and family that are helping me to gain more balance in my life. It will be difficult, but everyone gets it at some point. The only bit of advice I can offer is to make sure to get enough sleep in order to maintain your health while accomplishing daily tasks. Go to bed earlier, get up later, makeup can wait, showers can be shorter, etc.

Let me know what your thoughts are!
